- 25 of the first year freshmen were admitted in Aug. 2002 and the Department was under the College of Medicine (Now is the College of Health Care).

- Assoc. Prof. Wu, Hong-Wen was the acting Chairman, and Prof. Chang, Weng-Cheng served as the Dean of the Academic affairs of the University.
- 5 classes of the students had been admitted

- The founder Chairman, Prof. Chang, Weng-Cheng, Chaired the Department again.
- 1st class (students of year 2002) graduated. The Department was then under the College of Health Care.

- Dr. Wang, Huei-Ju served as the interim chairman and was in charge of the preparation for all the Department evaluation and accreditation work.

- After a public search, Dr. Wang, Huei-Ju was selected as the chairman of the Department by the Search Committee, and served her term to Jul. 2014.
